Dana Springer is a 27 year old artist from Maastricht and alumni of the Maastricht Institute of Arts, where she studied Illustration. In her work she mainly processes and expresses her emotional experiences. Her drawings tend to center around self-worth, property, rebellion, politics, pathology, mental health and current world affairs. The work usually takes the form of an illustration, which might be placed in the public space. Her light, almost sketched, strokes create a contrast to the heavy subject matter and symbolic references. By channeling her own inner experiences, Dana hopes to strike a note with those who may have felt the same and ask them;

“What do you hold inside? What do you keep from the outside? What can’t be held back?’

After graduating in 2024, Dana has settled in Maastricht and works from her atelier at Achter de Barakken 31A.

Next to creating personal works, Dana enjoys hosting space for people of all ages and backgrounds to come together and participate in making art. Since 2025 she is hosting the Drink & Draw at the Mariastraat 13, an event that highlights the act of drawing as an accessible artform for everyone.
